I had a the same problem for a while, could be that the fob battery is on its way out, could also be the battery connection prongs need bending out to make better contact.. this was the case for me, bent the prongs out a little and no more problems :)

Hi Mike, I have a quick question for you about your experiences with the OCAP mounts you fitted back in 2015, how are they holding up, how did they bed in and do you have much cabin vibration at idle? I'm looking to do my lhs mount today and the Ocap ones are what I can get at short notice...

Apparently it's the PC9-401 adapter you need to get the rear speakers and sub up and running.

There's an adapter you can get, my audio is all aftermarket so I never needed the adapter as I don't run rear speakers.. you will need a powered aerial adapter and the rear speakers/sub adapter or I guess you could splice the wires from the second ISO (brown) to match up with the new head unit...

I'm sure it does, and maybe in the future I'll be able to afford something from you guys but not right now! Keep up the good work :)

Having never had to look for a door loom I honestly couldn't tell you, I'm sure they would, people are breaking these cars all the time. There are many things that could be the cause of low mpg, is the car getting up to temp? I'm no expert but I've done a lot to my car, which is on similar...

Quattros do use a bit more fuel but your figures seem low to me, as for the door loom I'd keep an eye on fleabay.

Non Quattro 1.9 tdi? I tend to use Halfords advanced tools, they're not silly money and carry a lifetime guarantee. You could take a punt on a second hand door loom, if it's cheap enough! But with no way to verify the wear it's had it could have the same problem you're having..

You will have to run a switched live from somewhere as the oem unit doesn't need one, I used the thin red wire from the wires under the steering column as a trigger for a relay on a 12v feed (just took a feed off the stereo loom constant live).. The benefit of using the red wire is it goes off...

It's not impossible to fix yourself, but it would be a PITA, the speaker wire will be degraded inside the rubber sleeve where the door hinges.. you can just replace the speaker wire that's degraded but it would be far easier to replace the door loom.. how are your soldering skills?
