I guess it's what you get used to but I prefer it the way it is in my current car rather than the courtesy one.
Maybe because I'm left handed, I always look at a list from the bottom to the top so what I have now suits me better. :-)
I take it VCDS is something to do with Vehicle Coding so if...
Hi folks,
Over the last two days, I've had a courtesy car as my A3 2.0 TDi went in to get (yet another) turbo replaced! (Another long story).
Anyway, on the 60 plate A3 1.8T that I got (with S-tronic), I see that Audi have made some changes that I found quite irritating.
First was the unlock...
I had a look at this and I can see no way for the rear sun roof to open. It appears to be fixed in place.
Would love to be proved wrong but I just don't see any way for this to happen.
With Froyo, it helps a little but it's still not perfect. Still have to reset bluetooth every so often to get it to connect. However, it does work better.
I haven't tried it with anything else, may try a standalone bluetooth headset.
G-man
The only problem I have is the time it takes to get the 'BT ON' message. Sometimes it's seconds, sometimes it's half an hour. I've got a bluetooth widget on the main screen so I can switch bluetooth off/on very quickly and that does help.....sometimes!
My old Windows mobile phone sync'd up in...
You sure you're holding down the button for at least 3-4 seconds? It doesn't happen instantly, usually a few seconds delay. Could also be disabled on your car.
Not for me! Takes up to 10 mins to get to 'BT ON' ! My Win mobile was FAR FAR better at Bluetooth, usually taking no more than 5 - 10 seconds to get to the same point.
Once the Desire has sync'd up it works fine.
I have the Desire as well, what I find is that it can take anything up to 10 mins to get the 'BT ON' on the DIS. I can get it to work straight away by going into Bluetooth settings and click on the Audi device. Once it has sync'd up it works fine. Just the delay is a pain.
My previous phone...
Found a new one recently with the Symphony. Playing a CD about halfway through, wanted to eject one of the other discs, so pressed Eject, pressed '6' (CD 5 was playing). CD 6 ejected, it then reloaded CD5 and played back from the same place, no going back to the beginning of the cd. :)
I found that initially, but found that if you let the car start to creep forward first then start to accelerate it will be off to a flying start. If you try to boot it from a dead stop there is a bit of 'dead space' before it picks up.
Found this out the other night quite by accident
Driving away (S-tronic) with the handbrake on and you get a warning on the DIS 'Handbrake applied' LOL
