I just had a look at the link. That is a really good write up. The written instructions are in English and cover everything including pictures.
Definitely a job you would be capable of doing yourself.
Both decent brands. They aren't interchangeable so make sure your clutch and flywheel are the same make. When I changed them on my A4 CAGA I also had to replace the thrust bearing sleeve as the new bearing wouldn't slide over it.
I'm not sure if these cars have it, but fords use to have a fan assisted temperature sensor in the climate control module for the cabin temperature which made that noise.
When I done mine on my A4 I used an old ford wiper relay. I tapped off the reverse light for the trigger, then found a spare fuse in the boot fuse box for the main power.
I wouldn't wire it directly to the reverse as in tends to cut out if you do.

I fitted one to my A4 when I had it. It was the slowest charger I ever used and it must have been designed around a Iphone 5 because anything bigger than that didn't fit.
