    Tyre help please

Hi, What tyres did you fit in the end. I recently put a set of Cooper Zeon CS6 on my 2005 A6 3.0 TDI quattro SE saloon (std 16" wheels) and find the road noise unbearable apart from smooth tarmac where they are silent. Any tyre recommendations from anyone, I'm more interested in a quiet ride...

New to Audi and looking at an A6 3.0 TDi

Be careful when you remap. The ZF6HP19A auto box is only rated to 500 Nm, ref a conversation I had with ZF. Also listen for timing chain rattle when starting from cold. Usually it can be cured (not always) by having the upper R/H timing chain tensioner changed.

    Will a remap damage......

Hi, I contacted ZF to see what the max torque the gearbox would take for my car a 2005 A6 Quattro 3.0TDI Auto fitted with a ZF6HP19A gearbox code GZW. This is the reply. " You vehicle will probably be fitted with the 09L Gearbox. These are rated to about 500Nm. I would not recommend an...

    Timing Chain

Hi, Got my car back Wednesday, started it up this morning (Thursday) with no timing change noise. Well pleased, now booked in for an economy map next week. I did ask at what sort of mileage the chains should be changed but was told they should last the life of the car. Out of interest mine has...

    Timing Chain

Hi, Mine has been diagnosed as the upper right hand side (drivers side) timing chain tensioner. This has been mentioned as the most likely cause elsewhere in this and on various other forums. Total cost to replace including vat is £193.45 for parts (tensioner, sprocket & 8 bolts) + £330 for...
