Well it turned out that the recon rack I got leaked like a sieve. It leaked worse than the original I took out :wtf:I got a replacement for the replacement and touch wood this has been ok and no problems:thumbs up:

I am wondering if any of you can help me out. I have just changed the steering rack on my S3 and I am wondering how much power steering fluid the car should take. I thought I had bled the system but after a little bit of driving the level drops slightly. Will I just have to keep topping it up...

If it is a karcher snowfoam lance it will not fit the nilfisk. You can buy an adaptor bush for the nilfisk so that you can use the hose + lance from Karcher. I think they are a few quid off ebay.

I previously had a karcher and it finally gave up the ghost. When reading online I heard good things about the nilfisk so decided to take a punt and buy one and I must say so far I have been impressed. Take a look at argos I found there prices to be good on all models.

I had the same problem with my heater. It turned out to be a foam plate that had fallen in there and was catching on the fan. I managed to reach it from under the bonnet and pull it out.

I used a couple of guides I found on the net which were quite useful sure I saved them will have a look when back at home.

So after stripping the thermostat out I could feel the water pump impeller was cracked into 3 pieces :crying: I carried on and have the water pump out ready to swap. The timing belt was changed about 30,000 miles ago do I get a new one as I have it all stripped back ?

I will have to look through the paperwork I have later I know its had a cambelt but do not recall seeing anything about a waterpump and the car is now on 90,000 miles

If I had head gasket failure would not lose water or oil / have some sort of smoke ? Also I replaced the thermostat only last week so I am hoping that it has not jammed. I have had a search on here and water pump seems to be a possible culprit ?

As I was driving along the water low warning light came on as soon as I could pull up I did. The temp gauge went to just over 100 degrees before I turned the engine off. I gave it a minute or so before I undid the cap to check. It steamed a bit and when that stopped there appeared to be enough...
