Yeah it's weird that the top half is pretty easy to fix and get to, but the bottom isn't.
If it bothers you, just know that it was $2700 to replace it, parts and labor at the dealership. Thankfully the warranty company footed the bill. It might bother you less at that price

So the bottom half isn't a relatively easy fix like the top half. Thankfully my car was still under its extended warranty. I had to have the whole headlight replaced under warranty. It's fixed now, but you can tell the color temp of the new one vs the original one.

My 17 S3 just did this in the past week? Did you end up fixing it? The bottom part of mine also died. I'm not sure if there is a second source of light for the bottom.
