My Hex-V2 lead came today so I tried to do this but any change I try to do comes back with error (request out of range)! Can you tell me the method you used
I'm starting to think it's not just the build up causing the noise ! It's the butterfly motor which isn't operating
Just clean old gasket and reuse, that's what I did and was fine
I did have some injector noise which I sorted by replacing the copper seals, orings and stretch bolts, were your bolts replaced when your injectors were changed ? Were the injectors new or reconditioned.
Audi said my noise was normal on a health check obviously wasn't because it's sorted now...
I was looking at it today and was thinking the same, i went ahead and removed the flap and noise gone while plugged in ! yes i could hear the noise only at low RPM. Yes was quieter during regen and that does make sense why. Thanks again for your two cents im so pleased noise has gone, im still...
Firstly thanks for the info
when disconnected engine is silent for a diesel but im still getting noise when connected after cleaning which has returned gradually after the clean so im going to remove the butterfly to see if that cures it. Do you think removing the butterfly will effect DPF...
Same as yours mine is so smooth with it disconnected but still has noise when connected, initially after cleaning it was very very quiet but has got more noisy. I think it has to be the flap motor not operating the butterfly correctly
I know this is an old thread but wanted to say thanks for the info, this has made a night and day difference to my SQ, waiting for vag-com lead so I can dial out a bit of the egr sludge
An A4 RNS_E will need trimming to fit in 8l dash will also need a small gap of about 3mm filled above the unit, i fitted a chrome strip above it that matches the quattro badge on glove box
obviously if you have RNS-D you have double din so climate panel is already in position no trimming required
My unit cost £430 from ebay, double din cage about £ 67 from Audi, GPS antenna £10 from ebay, wiring harness adapter about £14.
i fiited it myself the RNS-E needs trimming down as does the climate panel (i have a template for this) and the unit will need to be coded with VAGCOM
i will post a...
I would rather go for the A4 with square facia as your fitting it in a square double din opening and can only give a better fit and finish in my opinion,
can't help with the decoding sorry.
Really want to keep the S3 start up screen but when RNS is coded for A3
mp3 info doesn't display on DIS and ignition doesn't power the RNS on and off. Will have to experimant with the coding.
