got the same issue would like to know what it is I have been told it could be the DMF is on its way out, hence the vibration a bit like an unbalanced wheel, which would come and go a certain engine speeds?

Did you ever get this problem resolved and what was it? My 2.0tdi quattro is now exhibiting exactly the same issues. around 2200 revs there is a heavy vibration especially in 6th, but goes if you drive through it at 2800 Its driving me nuts because in 6th thats around 70-80 mph cruising speed...
