in case you are thinking about doing it, I would tell you that this is very precise soldering skills needed to do it. You could always try just heating the existing joints with an iron before replacing, it can also be that the joint has dried and will cause problems too.
well i check with google analytics and it has been downloaded 2,345 times on its current location and it had a further 600 before i moved the host to this one. im sure more people can post back there experiences.

I was less fortunate with the weather though as itwas raining almost all day.
i think that without the rubber strips either side for the screen to sit on that is what will happen, because the backlight will be on but no pixels will come on.

there is a rubber strip that the lcd screen sits on, well there is 2 actually one either side of the screen that props it in place. if they fell out by mistake the screen won't work. maybe that's the problem with it.

Sorry i can't comment at all on it. I'm not an expert just simply an owner that was truely annoyed how unsightly a bad DIS looks so i fixed it. I'm a technician and by nature i like to fix such things.

yeah i used a hairdryer on hot. i know its quite time consuming to take it all out and do it again if it doesnt work but i think safer than going too hot too quick if its not needed.
i did heat it up a fair bit though.
