Rear brake pad change - Handbrake question

Rear brake pad change - Handbrake question
Good afternoon, I intend to change my rear pads this weekend, quick question. Should the handbrake me up or down when performing this. I've never had to rewind a caliper before and not one linked to the handbrake, showing my age!- DBrent
