1 week in and I'm loving having the flaps unplugged. Such a better noise especially on a spirited drive. Have noticed people all of a sudden turning round to see what's coming which is pretty cool too. Poser.....
No drone either on motorway or cruising speeds.
All in all highly recommended.
I've just ordered these. Expensive for what they are I appreciate that. But I like a proper job and is a good way to seal the plugs and eliminate any fault codes. Quite glad I found them will update once fitted...
Good feedback on this topic here guys. I've unplugged (whilst turned off) and sealed up the plugs today. Seems slightly louder but nothing hugely different. More throaty than anything and a more of a burble in the lower revs which is nice. No fault lights either. Win win.
I've unplugged them tonight (whilst the car was off) and I'm pretty sure they're both now permanently open but can't be sure. It sounds a bit more throaty to me. But this may be in my head...! I'm sure at idle the flaps are both permanently open anyway so I'll try it for a week of driving and...
I've learnt the hard way with amateur use of VAGCOM before so I'm steering clear of anything like that and dodgy "users". Will do a bit of research over the weekend. Hey - may even ask my local dealership! :tearsofjoy: Not

Thanks in advance for...
Hi mate,
Mine had the soundaktor and it was located in a slightly different place to the Golf on the passenger side (UK) just underneath the scuttle panel.
Hi again,
I agree that setting the volume to zero is a good option, but unfortunately I didn't have the VCDS tool to hand so unplugging it worked for me and I've been very pleased with the outcome. Plus removing it is weight saving.... ;-)
