They're charging 129USD an hour with 3.3 hours of labor on the install and 289 for the water pump. That 932 figure included the parts, labor, diagnostic, tax, and a coolant flush (which still seems on the high end). They're going to send me a detailed estimate via email later.

It's possible that the thermostat is stuck open somehow but I would also assume that would lead to increased temps across the board and not just when engine load is applied. I plan on having the thermostat done w/ the revised water pump if I actually go that route.
