Hi all,

Please take a look at the following communication from Audi UK this morning.

The RS3 will be removed from the configurator with immediate effect, no one can order an RS3 anymore, and potentially some orders may get cancelled.

Should have been done a long time ago until they caught up with orders.
Hopefully they schedule early orders first.

Not totally unexpected considering the continued delays and similar article posted in Germany recently.
On the plus side, that should help push up residual values of second hand cars.

So 77k maybe considered a good deal in the near future for a used RS3! Instant 23k profit... but I like the car too much to sell it even after 7 months and just tipping over 3k miles.

What I'm hoping is that my green Saloon still does get built (although the build week keeps going back so may get cancelled). Then I'll sell my black Sportback for a nice profit when that arrives

So hopefully/maybe Audi has listened to the chatter around ****** off customer’s. That communication says to me (among other things) that they want to stop dealers taking the mick and stocking cars then ballooning them for big profits. Hopefully everyone that’s ordered gets sorted, those who already have there’s may see an increase in residual ??

And yet just to pizz you off even more still available to build on the Audi website and then when you get the dealer ''Sorry Sir the RS3 is not available to order any more...............however, we do have an extortionally high priced car in stock

You have to change Audi importer in UK :D Its so weird. I v just ordered RS3 (in Poland) with options not available in UK (360 cam, inductive charger, side assist) and it shoud be in 9 months max, but probably in 6 months. Audi dealer said, that importer in each country decides which options are available (from "Audi shop") so ok, i understand issues with car parts, but why on smaller market its possible to order this? Or EU is important in this case...

I ordered from Audi Gliwice in September 2021, was told originally April/May 2022, got it yesterday. I wouldn't hold my hopes up for the timeline you have been told.

Think the word "Recession" will affect even WBAC prices the used car market will remain stagnated for the duration especially cars such as mass produced ones those with real money will continue to buy the highe priced brands bit like yersel Glen....lol

you threw me then mate ;)
so far mine is still ‘just’ worth more than I paid, which ain’t bad 10 months on.
I’ll be happy if it has modest reductions over the next 6 months.
Halting orders could help residuals positively but many many others factors could impact as you say.

Unfortunately our importer is fully owned by Audi AG they just hide behind loads of smokescreens to avoid doing anything actually useful for the customer.

I don’t think I know anyone who’s had a positive or useful interaction with them!

I think you all are overlooking a key part of this message from Audi.

That is already placed orders are not guaranteed a car. They may cancel new orders, the fact it even says that suggests to me it will happen.

I suspect they will stop production at some point and just cancel anything that’s left. I have a horrible feeling that may even happen before the end of the year - which would mean the majority of orders are canceled.

No inside information here but based on the track record so far it seems to be very plausible.

Global shortages aside, the RS3 launch, in what should have been its swansong, has been a compete ****show from Audi/Audi UK.

The specs, options and ordering process has been a joke. Especially when you go to Europe and see a few with so much variation in parts and each one with proper TPMS. There is no shortage of bits, the UK just isn't getting them!

I can't believe we live in a world where a 50-70k car requires the owner to get on their hands/knees to look for a screw or nail to see which tyre it's in, imagine having to do that at 2am on the side of the motorway in driving rain! I've said it before, but I can get it on my ****** push bike for £150!!

Seemed a really odd decision to remove such a useful feature.

If mine didn’t have it as a factory option I would’ve retro fitted it anyway for the fact it’s so quick to let the driver know a tyre has an issue.

On my 8V it literally binged up before the car had got out of the garage that a tyre had lost too much pressure overnight.

In terms of the passive tyre pressure monitoring, if it's anything like my B9 S4's version then it'll still tell you what tyre is low so you don't have to go searching as suggested. It was sensitive enough on that car that I tried fitment of one winter wheel and drove about 5 m and it told me exactly which wheel was 'low' because of the slightly different tyre size.

Lol its hilarious just been told all cars awaiting build weeks and cars with build weeks now have no build week as of yesterday mines is 00 now
Salesman did say all existing orders should be built but reading between the lines thats not happening so those who need a car best look elsewhere or wait for the FL whenever that'll be

I think so yes, my Golf R would alarm 'Low Pressure Front Left' It did so after new tyres were fitted and the tech left the barcode sticker on

If a salesperson said 'Good Morning' to me I would look outside and make sure it's daylight.

They are awful

When my car was ordered I would enquire by email or phone about every 3-4 weeks to check on progress (BW etc) I decided I must be telepathic because on the odd occasion I got a reply (and it was the odd occasion) the reply would be ‘I was just about to contact you your BW has been brought forward’

The ONLY time I got a timely response was when messing about on the Audi website when I was considering selling my RS3, I pressed the 'value your car' button and I kid you not the phone rang before I had time to pick my cup of tea up with the greedy sales person trying to buy it back

At least you got to speak to your SE. Sent mine the attached bulletin earlier on. The Ignorant P****k has an "out of office" reply until the 31st. Compared to my time in the Trade this guy seems to have more time off than a Poppy Seller..............

I see Audi are gonna cancel demonstrator and showroom orders which I can imagine will account for atleast 100 orders considering how popular this car is and the markup possible on it which is good news..

They also should cancel orders from the likes of Automotive addiction and others who's placed a ton of orders with the intention to flip them for massive amounts, he seems like he's struggling to shift the ones he currently has anyway, LOL.

If everyone's build week has disappeared then it's certainly interesting times ahead.. could end up that those who ordered weeks/months ago get their orders quicker than the ones who ordered last year.

Once his 7.2% rate has gone in November then the 10.9% will really affect people taking PCP’s out.

Gonna make owning / running an RS3 an expensive outlay.

Had exactly the same reply yesterday when I contacted my SE yesterday, however I then forwarded the email to the GSM and had a reply within the hour, I've had no issues with the 4 emails ive sent requesting updates in the last 7 months.... not all dealerships/SE are ignorant ******, just the few that give them a bad name I guess.

It's such a difference experience in Poland, I have exchanged over 200 emails with my Salesrep with him replying a few hours at most after I would enquire him. I don't understand the discrepancy between the UK and Poland :/

Equity from previous cars built up + cheap bank loan mate.

We have, too, John.

Even keeping our 8PRS3, 8JTT, and 8RSQ5, we STILL have...

Some of us have worked for it (underground! and abroad) and paid 17.5% mortgage along the way. Never done PCP or HP whatever :yahoo:

ALWAYS cash £s purchases, ALWAYS! :friends:If we don't have the £s then we just DON'T!

Started with nothing and going out with nothing, hopefully.

Just don't waste it foolishly - especially on flash cars you can't afford - along the way!

Happy days, and days to come, maybe.

Past caring now mind...

I do get why some will PCP though….

It’s just I’ve never felt comfortable with it.

I’ll only stretch to what I can comfortably afford, no more…….

But we are all different.
