Now standard on the S3 facelift (possibly also S-Line but wouldn't swear on it) and available as an Audi accessory to pre facelift owners it's called Audi Beam - also available as 'quattro'.

I have the rings on my front doors and quattro on the rear doors.

I'll have mine on Friday afternoon when the dealer retro fits them after the car arrived with standard ones fitted, like others on here. Front doors only.

After 6 months they get water in and project a nice pattern of bubbles so keep an eye out for that unless Audi has revised the design.

It is - I'm on my third set !!

Rears seem ok so guessing they are better protected from water flowing through the door.

I don't think it's water from beneath but water getting in from above when you jetwash your car - they need a plastic shroud above them to deflect any water a bit like some door speakers have.

You can indeed go through warranty although it's a bit of a PITA getting it booked in and looked at.

Some pvc heat shrink insulation would sort on yer wet ring mate.....lol

This is interesting....I presumed my car will not come with them, so I ordered some S3 logos not the rings from Ali baba. I assume the same issue will apply.......How about if I coat the body of the component with Corrosion X which is a water repellent for electronics or have Audi come up with a shroud type fix for the FL or silicone around the wire entry into the component.....if that is where the water is entering the component

There is no rubber grommet or foam seal around the connector so I strongly suspect this is the culprit for the water getting in, either a shroud or something to prevent water ingress like silicon should help protect them.

Would be interesting to see on later FL cars that now ship with the Audi beam if the connector has changed.

Thanks Rob, I have not received my Alibaba units yet and thought the wire entry might be the issue, Maybe Jassy could have his son look at the replacement units for those that have not received Audi beam and confirm if any changes and what?

Edit: my monitor is calibrated and gives true colour rendition.... love the Ara Blue, as I was nervous in ordering without seeing it in the flesh. Another few weeks before I see my saloon.

I got them from eBay although the seller only ships to U.K. They are genuine Audi though and the part number is 8V00725303Q0 I'm sure LHD would be the same. They are for models without Audi side assist although they do a version for cars with Audi side assist as well.
