vagcom Where From

    Hi All,

    Ive heard a lot about these vagcom thingys and wondered...

    1. What do they do.
    2. Where do I get one.
    3. How much are they.

    I bought mine from Gendan. I went for the full HEX+CAN official cable. I's pricey, but you know it will work with all cars and the latest VAG-COM version.

    If you only need basic use, just get a cheap cable off ebay and download the trial version.

    Thanks for the info. My car is a 99' S 1.8T - what can I do with a VAG COM if I get one? How much is the software if the cable alone is £200 + ??

    The software is free to download. If you have a cable like mine, you can use it on any computer that has VAG-COM installed.

    Other cables require you to register VAG-COM with Ross-Tech who will give you a validation code to unlock all the features, but then you are restricted to using it on the computer you first installed it on.
