B6 steering wheel fit B5 ?

hi all will ALL B6 steering wheels fit a facelift B5 car? as some say 2002 on
B6 start from 2001 so have they changed the spline etc?
i know some do fit the b5, question is which ones do?

They will yes, its the early B5's are the awkward spline. I mean Stapo has a flat bottomed B7 style one in his IIRC

Wonder where that leaves me then as mine is a 96 car but has bits like the bottom door strips from later cars ????

I would bet you need the pre 97 wheel to fit yours sadly.

I spose we should designate it 96.5 then,lol

When I finally get more than 5 minutes to myself I might pop the wheel off and sse what sort of spline it has

ive got an A6 2002 tiptronic wheel on mine (buttons dont work of course but look cool and wheels chunkier)
i think the splines the same on all later models but youd possibly need matching slip ring aswell

changing steering column on pre 98 would allow use of a later wheel and doesnt look to hard to do

i would love a flat bottom jobbie in my 99 s4 but they're a fortune £600 i've seen people sell them for

Anybody have a pic of the splines so I can tell whether to get excited or not when the old wheel comes off
