no ooomf in the old beast!!!!

just got back from racing with a friend and i heard a loud click sound when i accelerated past 3500rpm and when coming back past 3500rpm? the car has no oomph anymore! when the turbo normally engages you can feel it but now nothing. it does sound like the recirc is still kicking in tho?

i havent had a chance to stick my head in and have a ganda yet but was wondering if anyone has experienced this before and if so, what to look for as i know a little about engines but it is a little!

any help would be much appriciated

usually kicks in at about 2-2.5 so you telling me you get absolutely nothing at all, need to get vag on it aswell to check any thrown codes, maybe a hose has split causing issues with boost, check for any leaks around jubilee clips aswell, I would hazard a guess its something like this
