More probs with the S3..suspension this time :(

Well it's now 12 days since I ordered the suspension and it STILL hasn't arrived and I'm getting severely ****** off!! So much for 3-4 working days for delivery!

Venom are being absolutely usless! I've been phoning almost every day and just being given excuse after excuse "it's on it's way", "Weitec aren't answering their phones", "Give me your number and I'll get back to you". Of the 3 or 4 callbacks I've been promised they've not called me back once. I'm on the verge of telling them to stuff their suspension and ordering elsewhere. Ok so I'd have to wait another 4 working days for delivery but companies shouldn't be allowed to get away with such crap customer service. If it's not here by Friday I'm going to ask for my money back.

I've had to tell ABTech that I'll be in contact when I'm ready to proceed with the work and in the meantime I'm still driving round with a broken spring!

Pants, absolute pants!!

Ah I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know if/when they arrive? I'm pretty damn sure that mine have gone missing and nobody wants to admit to it. They're only coming from Germany after all, not the other side of the world!

Not to rub salt in your wounds but my spacers from venom came 3 working days after i ordered.

My guess is your right and they have either been lost in transit or Weitec don't have the right kit to send out and are covering to keep your business.

Hope you get it sorted soon mate to ease your pain.

YES!! Got in this evening to find a large box of suspension bits waiting for me!!!

What I really can't believe tho; I placed the order on the 9th Jan...according to the UPS paperwork it was shipped from Germany on the 20th!! Someones been telling porkie pies!

She's booked in for next Wednesday to get the work done. Fingers crossed it all goes well!

Mines arrived today to, i'm going to attempt to fit the kit sat. Any ideas how hard it is anyone. ?????

The twang.

What I have seen in a few cars now is, the bearing under the top mount siezed and the spring wanting to move when the wheels are turned so it jumps / twangs on the spring plate.

I have replaced a few and they are only a few quid. And it has almost always been that. On one case someone left it and the twang got bad and when I removed it, the spring top had opened out and was too wide so it went over the plate and was resting on the body.

But I am willing to bet that a few quid on new bearings and your sorted.

Today has been a busy day for ABTech..they've done:

Weitec kit
Front/rear top mounts & bearings
Powerflex dogbone mount
Discs and pads all round
Haldex oil and filter change

Apparently not only was my front offside spring broken as suspected, so were both rears!! No wonder the handling was ****!! Everything feels so much tighter now.
I've not had a good chance to throw it around yet as the roads were busy and wet on the way home but I'll be popping out later for a blast

As well as the suspension improvements the gear change feels much smoother thanks to the new dogbone mount.

I'm one very happy (but poor) S3 owner again..for now!!

Thought it was just me, but your additional post seems to have fixed the problem.

Glad its sorted. i forgot to mention, when i fitted mine, my top mounts were upside down!!!! 'Walker cuttings' Audi specialist my fu*king ***. More like complete nob!!!!

Passed Andy on the way to work today (actually he passed me first but i was in a world of my own) gotta say his car's ride height looks much better and from the smile on his face i would say he is quite happy if alot poorer.
