Recently ive noticed a whistling noise on accelleration at about 2k revs,is this normal or mayb sumthing wrong with the turbo?

dont you normally hear the turbo whistle? tdi's are louder than 1.8t's and i can hear mine whistle up at 2k - though now i have a cai you just hear the rushing sound of the air over the whistle.
Have you had the car long? If so then maybe you have a boost or air leak, check all the hoses going to the turbo etc.

Whistle on audi diesel turbo's is normal, if its extraordinarily loud could be sign of wear, whats car specs, age, mapped etc etc?

no hasnt lost any power! the car is 6 years old with 98k on the clock and been remapped to 160bhp
well sure you just havnt been de-tuned to the noise, does happen as per my TDI makes a fairly loud whistle on turbo but I dont worry about it as Simon@amd said its quite normal & only questionable if loss of power or any engine changes etc, my S3 DV was the same with the CDA airbox, just got used to & worked 100% fella.
