Hi Guys,

I have recently been told that getting the engine in my car remapped can return me better MPG...

Has someone had this done who can verify this ? I thought it would have the opposite effect on fuel consumption..

My car has as stock, 180bhp.. What would be a quality remap, and could you point me in the direction of a reputable company that would carry out the work....

Thanks alot

Tim

I have an S3 and recently had it remapped by Custom Code.

Before: 30MPG
After: 28MPG

Admittedly it did go down to 22MPG in the first week as I was just hooning around.

Swings and roundabouts.

Generally after a remap, when the car is driven sedately you should see an improvement in MPG. However, due to the new higher levels of boost available, you may find yourself driving faster. Remapped cars obviously use more fuel on full throttle.
