A4 b8.5 ignition lock defective

Help please
Have a 2013 A4 Avant . Was driving home Friday in heavy rain and no problems , got in the car Saturday morning put the key in the ignition and get ignition lock defection come up on the dash and noticed the steering lock wasn't on . Since then I've cleaned the keys checked all fuses batteries all fine replaced the ignition lock but nothing . Have been trying to get my obd2 to connect to the ECU but without the ignition on having no joy

I would look at when the battery was last changed in the car

It's an old battery but voltage seems fine I've also hooked up to another car with jump leads and still the issue continues
