S3 8p A/C noise

Hi everyone,

I hear a strange noise when the a/c is on and the noise is increased when the revs are increased, when I press the “AC ” button the sound stops. When I decrease the temp of the climate the noise also is reduced. This happens only when “AC” is on, here is pic while ac was warking:

most probably the bearing on the ac pump. ive got a similar noise myself with the same symptoms that ive been ignoring.

Sounds like the the magnetic clutch is failing or failed, ideally change either this or the whole compressor.

Is the number 8 the magnetic clutch?

Is it make any sense to regass the system?

Regassing won't fix the noise issue imho, it's more than likely the magnetic clutch or whole compressor.
