ok iv spent the last 30 minutes going through search results on the forum and cant find any good recent info on this

i have the bog standard, crappy looking headlights and want an upgrade

options i can see so far are:

1. ebay cheapos, not sure if they are any good
2. s3 xenon's, it looks like there are pre-facelift and facelift xenons for the s3

my lights are the ones that are split into two sections, main and indicators

can anyone give me the actual answer here

exactly what can i fit to my car without chopping my wing into pieces. i want replacements that i can lift out the box and screw into place. i dont mind cutting away the small bit of metal inbetween the lights but dont want to be chopping wings, having to do any extra wiring etc etc

can anyone help, or does anyone know of a link to someone who is selling what i need :(

ps. if anyone has rear facelift lights for sale feel free to pm me as well :)

many thanks

You could use the pre facelift S3 xenons but you would need to do a little bit of wiring to get the ballasts in and working - will bolt straight in tho

aye but they look ****

should really have said i was looking for the easiest 'one piece' replacements

From what I gather you have to chop the wing if you have a pre facelift car and want to fit the facelift lights. So if you want the one piece look I am pretty sure the only way is to modify the wing slightly to take them

oh well, plunge has been taken

probably gonna regret the front headlights once i get them and realise they don't fit but im past the stage of caring

just decided to get them both out of the way

cheers to rickparmar for the info

ill post up pics of them and the new rs4's once everything is on

I had similar angel eyes on mine, took them off because it was just 4 rubbish little led's making up the ring, those look better tho so ill be intereted to see them on the car

Its wrong. well was for me, My car is 1998 so pre facelight. i bought 1 peice headlights off ebay (went for the dearest ones from USA at £180) went to fit them got my tools out ready to chop the wing and to my surprise i didnt need to. Maybe if you buy cheaper ones you have to but i was fine. can do pics for you of mine fitted with angel eyes on if you want, there l.e.d ones but very good quality rings light up very light blue.

arrived and fitted, straight in, no cutting, no mods needed, didnt even have to take the bumper off, old ones out, new ones in

pretty chuffed

magic :)

unfixed old ones, pulled indicator clusters out which just kinda slid out

undid last screw and took out old clusters

and then there is an angle which the new ones would slide in at, took a bit to figure it out but after a bit of footering about i managed it and just replicated it for the other side :)

will do, tell you what though, lights are awesome. old lights were absolutely useless at night time, couldnt see a thing, but these ones are awesome!

yea same with my originals were crap even with £30 bulbs i bought still not as good as my headlight upgrade.

Makes such a difference on the look of the car! Congratulations, looks stunning!

Ive been thinking on getting the same ones as yourself, but that ebay shop only seems to have the Chrome version of the light which looks a bit OTT tbh... have i got my wires crossed and the lights you have are indeed the same as http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FANALI-ANTERI...hZ002QQcategoryZ38661QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem

or are they what i think they are, a differnt style, chrome style.
ive emailed the seller and am awaiting a reply, thought id check here aswell.

Also was there any RHD LHD switching required, or was it true plug and play? says they come with the right connectors too so looks to be the best choice.

cheers

sorry to bring up an old thread.

im wondering the same as you voodoo! i want to get a set of these, and on theitalians car, they looked really awesome, although in the pics, the chrome lights look a little too bling. i dont think the photo taken on a chequer plate sheet really helps matters.

ive just PM'd him, so incase he doesnt see this thread, ill reply and let you know!

hes no longer doing them in an english auction, so i dont know what lhd/rhd issues there could be, are the lights UK/europe specific?

ive just e-mailled the guy, so we shall see.

Yes Im interested in some of these as well if a plug and play fit onto a A3, if any one gets the info, or finds the right auction could they PM me. Cheers!!

I was concerned about the chrome to start with but went ahead and bought them, and they look great. Makes a hell of a difference to the 8L

is a latest auction of the ones I bought.

No wing cutting required, no wiring of the loom either. Although im not as crafty as the itallian and ended up taking the bumper off, due to an anoying guide pin.

Heres a pic of the finished product

The only modding you will need to do is the wiring of the 12v LEDs, they come as unconnected wires so you can decide on how to light the LED rings, I just stripped back the sidelight wire on the loom side, and wired them all to that. So when I switch my sidelights on, both LED rings light up.

youll need to take the sidelight bulb out of the origonals unless you buy a replacement, but the rest come ready to go.

Definately worth doing, i also bought the rears from the same place

Heres some pics of the actual lights, the first one will show you wiring im on about at the bottom, the red led leads.

I didnt have to adjust for RHD either, had two marks set on my garage at a certain distance, swapped the lights then got the car in the same distance and they lined up fine. Whether my light test is acceptable for MOT, I will have to wait and see, but they look fine to me.

those lights look like they belong on a corsa matey, look really cheap + nasty

your entilted to your own opinion, however wrong it is :)... I like them and thats the main thing.
The picture is also pixalated slightly as it was origonaly 7mp and cut down to show here

I can also see the road better now as the standard were cack at night. So worth the money

did you get the xenon headlight upgrade mate? or just normal facelift? if so did the xenons work straight away or did you have to fiddle about with the wiring at all?

any chance of some better pics voodoo?

they look lovely on theitalians car, but not so great at that angle on yours. im sure its just a lighting thing though.

id be very interested to hear how you get on at the MOT, as after theitalian had his set fail the MOT, i e-mailled the seller, and they said that they were not able to offer me any RHD versions of the lights, as no such units had ever been made, and the LHD ones were not legal for use in the UK. so i didnt buy them, and the hunt goes on.....

This picture any better?
the MOT thing was concerning me from the beginning, havent got around to getting them checked yet though. But the test I did gave me a rough idea, they look fine on the dip to the side when driving and matched up at the same distance as the origonals so shouldnt be far out.

But im not a headlight aligning expert so cant say for sure.

Think they would look better if you got rid of the orange indicator bulbs.

IMO anyway

Just fitted black version to my black a3,which also has a blacked out grille and a lcr splitter, boy does it look mean.No cutting etc,but i will tidy up the wiring when i have some spare time,i haven't been out for a night drive yet,i'm babysitting tonight so i shall try them out tomorrow.

Sounds good Andy - any chance of some pics?

Cheers Steve

any pics yet andy? I was all up for the chrome ones, but im not so sure now, i think they may be a little TOO bright.

ive got a black 1.8T, and i too was thinking the black headlights may look amazing.

i was jsut worried they would look too dark..... although the light reflecting off the glass may make up for that.

pics please :)

As above, im patiently waiting for pics of your black headlights as I'm looking to get some :icon_thumright: Pretty much decided on them though :)

im unsure, i cant help thinking they will make the whole front of the car look too dark.

that said, theres a black S4 at work, and the inside of the lights on that are black, although you dont really notice it, because the glass reflects the light and it doesnt look too dark at all. very smart close up though!

PICS PLEASE ANDY!!!!
