I have a 55 TFSI so cant comment on the 50 TDI.
I find the screens fine to use when driving to be honest. Not as distracting as reviews lead you to believe. They get quite smudged with finger marks though. Tried to use the voice control system initially for functions but it struggles with my Scottish accent.
I've got the 50. In my opinion engine is awesome. Gearbox is a little slow on the uptake sometimes (compared to my A4) but you learn to manage that. Stop start is really good, instant. (it was sluggish in my A4 and I always turned it off)
The touch screens take a little time getting used to them, the top one especially. After a few weeks you whizz around them without issue, there is just a bit of a learning curve.
There are some quirks, I'm attempting to get hold of the booking centre as I type this because they've become more than minor annoyances now.
Despite the above, I love the car. I'm sure with a software update these can be sorted.
- Random parking sensor faults occuring while driving but clear following restart
- Random invoking of the parking sensor and camera system while driving (nothing is close enough to invoke them)
- Keyless system gets confused sometimes and locks and unlocks itself several times when attempting to gain entry
- Lock system error messages on dash, but clear following restart
- A front passenger this week couldn't exit the car via his unlocked door multiple times
- Just this morning suddenly there is a data connection error from the on-board SIM

Same experience on my new A7 which is 55 TFSI. Lots of silly glitches. It went in for an ECU replacement and it came back worse. The parking sensor audible warning has turned it self off. So when I get close to something it no longer gives off an Audible warning. So each time I set off on a journey I have to reset it to come on automatically otherwise they remain off.

Actually the worst glitch since it came back was that Audi Presense braked the car when there was no obstruction at all. Anyone else had this?

I don’t think this is unique to the A7 tbh. I have an A4 and the parking sensors are made upset by just the wind, and Pre-sense scares the living days out of me when it randomly decides it wants to strike.
Meh
You can reduce the sensitivity. It scared me a few times. Apparently the Audi tech was able to navigate the PreSense sensitivity setting. It basically looks like a cog on the top left ( if my memory serves). He also mentioned that it would pick up people on the pavement and the kerb, although I was dubious about it being THAt sensitive. It has not happened since.

Looks like me and you are in the same boat, I'm also collecting my A7 this week! Mind sharing your specs? Mine are below:
Daytona Grey Pearl
50TDI
S-Line
Adaptive Air Suspension
Acoustic Windows
Fine Grey Ash Interior
Comfort+Sound Pack
Mine is a 50tdi
Floret silver
21 inch wheels
Privacy glass
Comfort and sound pack
I only went in for a service two weeks ago with my a4 and ended up getting a A7!
Nice! That’s not bad! The one I specc’d misses out on Adaptive but has other goodies instead:
50 TDI
Glacier White
21 Inch Alloys
Tour Package
Comfort & Sound
Panoramic Sunroof
Power door closure
Electric heated, adjustable, folding and auto dimming door mirrors
However, I wanted to add in the Laser Lights in as well. So i’m trying to negotiate this with my dealer and see what can be done. Otherwise I think I’ll hold out on it till summer time when hopefully prices fall a bit lower!
Nice!
I decided I did not want the Tour Package as I personally don't like the huge radar blocks on the grille, but I imagine the adaptive cruise control is very useful.
Cars coming from Bedford Audi. Where I went for a service and also where I bought the A4 from! 25% off a A7 yes please!Hitchin Audi or? Because Vindis Audi in Bedford are offering very good deals on them if you are interested?

Yo lets do an A7 roadtrip to the Highlands
I got very lucky with 25% off. Good luck trying to get that much off. They messed up the valuation of my a4 and made it 4k more than it should of been. Originally I got 19.7% off due a carwow deal I had previously and I showed them they matched that. But aswell as that they messes up my valuation and I got more off!
Yes a road trip to the highlands haha
Wow that's a stonker of a deal! I could only get mine down to 52k from 63kThey gave me a good offer of £49k which I was chuffed with. A saving from £65k that the car was as speccd. But they raised it to 52.5k recently, I took a step back again. I currently have my A4 lease and still have a year on it as well so I was only entertaining the £49k price as it was a very good offer.
I want Laser Lights on the A7 anyways so tbh I can wait out. I think your A4 will be one of the only ones I will see around the area (ive seen your current A4 around).

Exactly. When I saw the price at 49k, maybe I should have just got a deposit down straight away. Im confident ill get a better deal, but the patience game is the worst
Have you seen my A4 around? Are you from Luton? They gave me a good offer of £49k which I was chuffed with. A saving from £65k that the car was as speccd. You'll thank yourself next year when you're paying WAY less than the majority of people with the same vehicle! You're playing the right game!

Oh wow
I'm not driving around Luton much anymore due to working in Buckingham. Sometimes on weekends. Guessing you saw it with the private plate on?
My cars been back to stock now as it's going on Friday! I'll keep an eye out for your A4 I think I've seen it.
@Wippers You're not in Kent by any chance are you? Regardless the side by side of these cars is lovely, interesting regarding the gear box, I'll come back with my verdict on that too
