I have an Audi A4 b7 1.9tdi the egr cooling pipe/system is broken and an expensive fix, if I brought a egr delete kit would that fix the problem? Thanks in advance

I imagine it'd trigger the EML. Bear in mind EGR removal is now an MOT fail.

They can only check what they can see unless that's changed also? If your egr is under a engine cover or anything you should be ok.

Have you not tried cleaning your egr?
