I bought a 2002 1.9tdi avf a4 quattro. Bought it knowing it has problems as I have another one there I can use for parts.I sorted most the problems including changing injectors cleaning the egr other small things.
But things I can't figure out is has a thumping noise coming from the intake assuming back pressure and it's over pressured in the camshaft section.
I have a video of the symptoms.
Also turbo has no play but car is dead till 2200 revs till its starts spooling and turbo hits full boost at 3000rpm and it's aggressive.
Also steam coming out of the dip stick and oil cap is dancing around when I take it off it splutters oil.
The pipe is clean for the top the camshaft cover
My last one started boosting at approximately 1800 and on full boost wasn't so aggressive.
Can anyone give me solutions.
For the back pressure I'm gonna assume it's either camshaft or valves. Thanks but of I close the eye flap half way the back pressure noise threw the intake disappears.
