Got the BCS Anti-Drone Res Delete on mine, great bit of kit, and yes no drone, but it does get noisy in the cabin, mainly on the motorways, when hitting the accelerator hard from 5th/6th to 7th (50/60mph to 80mph)! My S3 is a DSG. Once in 7th gear, all is quiet and zero drone!
I understand why some find it annoying, perhaps OTT, with the BCS res delete in the driving style/situation I mentioned. I do a lot of dual carriageway/motorway miles so I get to see the best (and worse) of the res deletes. The best way to overcome it, for me, is to manage the gear changes and accept how it operates. Still, that's my only criticism on the BSC – loving the pops and bangs, and overall exhaust dynamics!
Anyone tried turning off or decreasing the soundaktor noise? Would it make a difference? Thinking of taking it to my local VAG Indy to turn it off or set the soundacktor down to 10%! Never turned the thing off in my previous Golf R, in fact, didn't find it that obtrusive.
