And I'm done with Audi.
Here are links to a couple of YouTube videos about the new A8. The garage parking and exit would be great for me as my garage is not that big and I do have some leg problems which make getting in and out of the car in the confined space of the garage a bit difficult, but I still like to be it in to the garage if I can.
The under the car charging, in the garage, would be useful for anyone who goes for the e-tron version.
But the reality is, you interact with the technology inside a car constantly. Whether it be for environment, navigation or entertainment purposes.Who cares..... l buy a car on how it looks and drives and not for the silly gadgets....... There's far too much emphasis put on such things as Apple carplay and Android it's a frickin car ***......
Who has a garage large enough to accommodate a frickin massive A8 lol
So you'll buy a car with the best gadgets over buying a car that looks better but with not so high tech and what benefits has ergonomics got over standard technology when your stuck in traffic? The next new gadgets doesn't always mean it's better.... But l bet most folks that are into this kinda kit have also got the newest and latest iPhone or Android phones? But the reality is, you interact with the technology inside a car constantly. And while looks and driving performance absolutely matter, you can't tell the poor folks stuck in traffic commuting 2 hours a day that interior tech and ergonomics don't matter.
So for those customers, that emphasis you mention is very important.

In your particular example about being stuck in traffic. New technology such as ACC - being stuck in traffic with ACC is much better than without in. Also personally I see at lot more of the inside of my car than the outside! It's all a matter of balance. I like a car to look nice, but I also like some of the kit that makes the driver's life a little easier. No doubt people thought power assisted steering, power assisted brakes, automatic gear boxes, electric windows, electric moving and folding mirror etc etc were OTT when it first came out, but I doubt many drivers would want to be without then now. Having driven army vehicles without any 'gadgets' I would certainly not like to go back to them now. Even modern tanks now have automatic gear boxes. So you'll buy a car with the best gadgets over buying a car that looks better but with not so high tech and what benefits has ergonomics got over standard technology when your stuck in traffic? Well at least it has a volume dial and the steering wheel keys are still there. Imagine if they changed the steering wheel keys to touchscreen buttons....
New E class with the very expensive optional 2 displays.... Looks like something on the display shelves from Currys, there's a line in ergonomics/ user interface that shouldn't be crossed.... Next thing you know the BBC will charging ye for a TV licence for the telly displays in yer brief lol*cough* New E Class *cough*
Hate the steering wheel controls on new E class.
I never said that. But given two short listed cars of equal performance and good looks, the one with more useful interior tech will get the nod. Marketplace competition. So you'll buy a car with the best gadgets over buying a car that looks better but with not so high tech
Every driver has different use cases, but I'll venture to say the hardcore daily commuters and/or those with a single car put a significant emphasis on interior tech and comfort features; for second or "weekend pleasure cars", probably not as much.and what benefits has ergonomics got over standard technology when your stuck in traffic? I think this is great but I know some people here won’t like it.
