Headlight bulbs.

I know this may have come up before but how the heck do you change the bulbs in the headlight cluster on a 2009 A3 TDi ??? the only way I can see is to remove the headlight assembly is this right? if so do I need to remove the bumper first? PLEASE someone tell me there is an easier way!!!!

Can be done from the engine bay - the dipped beams are the hardest to get to as are the halogen DRLs - I've changed both from the engine bay. You just need slim hands, be prepared to fiddle around for a while and be prepared to get your hands scratched. Some say you can access via the wheel arches with the arch liners removed - I didn't find that any easier. It is a terrible design

It's also very easy to drop the bumper off,saves alot of time fiddling blind in that small space and scraping your hands to pieces.
