There's a large percentage of the human population all wanting a glimpse of the beast in the flesh now RobI'm in Ayrshire...once it's had its oil change and more miles on it and that I'll get it out and show some people it
The car it's self ain't much to look at with its rusty arches and scuffs but by god it goes haha
sleeper mode
Great result.
Go and have fun.
any pics or videos? whats the 0-60 time like in something like this?
On my GT30 setup I managed a 4.1secs 0-60 (v-box GPS) so I can't see this dropping too much as the change from 1st to second plays a massive part in this due to the 02M's gearing...
I would imagine with a decent launch and a quick change you could prob get this down to high 3's but its really the third and fourth gear pull thats impressive at this power level and videos of that would be rather silly to post
I have posted a video on this thread earlier that gives an idea of 2nd > 3rd gear pull ;P

eh? stock head? thought you were wanting big power?
I got a brand new, never used head for way too cheap to pass up. I've decided I'm going to use this, just to get the car running with some decent power (I've been collecting parts for over 6 months now!!)
Then 6-8 months down the track I plan on building the head and getting some of your cams + new inlet manifold. I don't have the funds to do it properly now, so I figure I can wait a while and do it properly when I have the money. I'm sure it will still go alright with the stock head, especially with e85

look at the axis...Why at 5250rpm is the torque and power not = ?
look at the axis...
The car might make enough power for me the first time around that I don't even bother with building the head. But in reality all its going to cost me is another head gasket and a couple hours of tuning extra than if I did it now.
It'll cost you a bit more than that to be honest.
You'd need to port the head, new valvetrain, plus cams, and then get it running and mapped.....it won't be a few hours, and it will cost more than a gasket or two.
The head has been off my TFSi a few times, and in retrospect I could have saved myself a decent bit of cash(and time) by going the whole hog in the first place.
I'm talking about the extra cost of doing it in stages rather than doing everything now. If I do it now I will still need to buy new valves etc.
If I do it a few months down the track the additional cost I'll have is the gasket and retuning (the cams valves etc need to be brought regardless if I do it now it later).
Hope that makes sense.
I see what you're getting at,but I've done a few things this way either from time constraints,or a set of parts that simply didn't work as billed, and learnt that the other way is the cheapest and best overall.
Well that's it had its 500 mile oil change another 500 to go then it's on fully synth nanodrive...had a good look about when it was on the ramp and as you'd expect from bill one tidy job
