Hi all,

I bought a 2005 2.7TDi Manual with a remap a while ago which appears to provide the extra power but then also seems to put it into limp mode on a very regular basis, at least once per over 30mph journey.
It happens often under load but even light load, eg: cruise control set to 70-80 one the motorway and the road will start to incline and the Glow plug light will ping on. The EML will come on and off but doesnt seem to effect performance.

My brother is a Mechanic and between us have tried a few different things to help with the problem.
We have completly removed the Inlet manifold and cleaned it out, at the time it wasnt particularly clogged, with a little sludge as to be expected from a diesel. We have carried out regular oil changes around the 7K interval with the most recent being today.

I asked about the problem when i first got the car, I cant remember what the fault codes are but many people on here suggested the swirl flaps where broken/dislodged but they were fine and still are today.
Possible the EGR valve blocked but same again we cleaned it and it wasnt actually blocked at the time.

For the time being as its new year and ive just had to fork out on brakes and tyres, does anybody know if there is a way to set the Map back to standard using coding on a diagnostics machine without going to a Specialist remapper?

He has a Bosch Diag at work which he thinks has the coding capabilities like VAG-com. If any one on here can help with this I would really appreciate it!

Thanks and Happy New Year

where are you based. the vehicle would need to be scanned etc using VCDS. there maybe some companies your way thatt could revert it to standard if you requested. me included if you my area

I'm in the South Oxfordshire Area and work in Berkshire to this kind of area would be good. Part of the problem is I cannot afford to pay much to get it remapped properly, hence why I'm looking for a way to reset to standard ourselves.

I suppose reset back to standard is going to be a lot cheaper than getting it remapped properly, if not then I would have to wait and then get it remapped properly when I had the cash
