As some of you will know, I've been on about selling the S3 as I need a diesel as I commute a long distance for work.

Got a good deal from the dealer so part exchanged it for a new A3 TDi Sport (not brand new, just new shape)

Should be picking it up next Friday..

I'll really miss the S3 but needs must and all that...

Already started thinking of what mods I can do /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif and will probably be adding a rear roof spoiler, RS6 Alloys and phatnoise!

Really looking forward to Friday now...

Which TDI is it Dicky? Remap on the cards?

Kev.

Its a 2.0 TDi Sport 140.

I'm thinking of the remap but will probably wait a while until I do it..

Is it manual or DSG Dicky? If I found several thousand pounds lying about I'd be looking at a 2.0 TDi Sport 140, probably DSG, but maybe manual, so I'd be interested in what you think. I've got a 8L TDi 110 atm.

Good purchase Rich, you'll love the low down grunty torque im sure.

I must admit the manual shift is very smooth on these new A3 diesels, whats yours Rich manual i presume?

Rich

yeah its manual. I think I'll stick to what I know /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'll give you a full review when I get it (Friday hopefully)

Dicky, I'm doing the same thing! Trading in the S3, which I'll miss loads, on Friday for a 2.0TDi.

Looking forward to 50mpg!

What's the boot size like on the new A3 compared to the S3?
Thinking I might have to change due to new baby.

A bit bigger although not sure about the exact numbers. It's deeper because you don't have the quattro mechanics and bit longer. You'll easily be able to fit a baby in there!

Dicky, was the dealer happy to take your modded S3 in part-ex? Is it an Audi main dealer?

Nice place they've got down there now Rich ?
I bet Gorseinon is a bit empty though.
Nice car too. Think I might not be far behind you.
Talk in the house of another kid, so a sportback is looking likely.

Chris.

Yeah its quite impressive. Gorseinon is now just full of VW's!

Everyone seems to be moving to tdi's lol!

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Chris - not you as well..
holy sht. at this rate there'll be several hundred s3's up for sale in swansea..

LOL

Maybe, its not a definite yet. Moving to work in Church St soon, so won't need two cars in the house then. May do the swap then.
Then again, I've seen the mess on my wifes wheels. Do I really want her doing that to mine ?

Chris.

These s-line A6s really are nice too.
Stick with the S4. Someone has to keep the optimax flowing !

Me too /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good fun innit???

It makes me appreciate the S3 more though, with having to drive the TDi all week. I notice how refined the S3 is!

I'm up for a new TDi shortly (company car lease almost up) but I have to get a 5-door. I'd like to get an A3 but the sportback doesn't do it for me (no offence folks!). Its looking like a 5-door Golf GT-TDi 4 motion. Anybody got one?
