What is high gloss?

There is an option for the A3 saloon that I'm looking at where it's called High Gloss. It is a factory option and costs $300 extra. Does anyone know what it is exactly? Is it just a wax that will fade after a few months or a very good layer of clear coat that will last a long time?

As far as I know it is the chrome around the side windows. If you look at the side of the car when ticking the option in the configuration you should see that some chrome details around the windows appear.

Yip, it replaces chrome window surrounds and chrome grill with gloss black.

Yes it's part of the £395 (code 4ZD) Black Styling Package (in the UK) where:

• Radiator grille frame and radiator grille struts, window trims and console in the side grilles in high-gloss black
  [*]Radiator grille, side air intake grilles and number plate holder in black matt
  [*]Diffuser in platinum grey
• Door handles in body colour

I have ordered it on my white A3 SB and already have it on my TT - it looks really good against light colours but IMO I'm not sure about dark colours. I saw a black A3 with the Black Styling Package at my dealer's yesterday and it looked too much black!
