cabin blower speed changes in reverse

I've noticed that my cabin fan is not as powerful as it used to be, except when I select reverse, you can then hear it blow properly.

Anyone come across this or a fix?

When you're in reverse, the heater goes into re-circulation mode, the flaps to the outside close so the fan sounds faster.

As above ...so the exhaust fumes aren't sucked into the cabin.

Maybe the flaps aren't closing.
