Yeh we will hopefully have quite alot of footage from the track day and also might interest people in French tracks, the main thing is to enjoy it though.
Intercooler and bumper mods might have been a bit extreme but the slam bar is ruined anyway and so is the front bumper so we thought why not.View attachment 58320
The time has come guys. Track day on Saturday in France. So preparation for that commenced today ready for the trip down. First off I packed her up and did some cleaning inside and out.
Then drove it home and filled with fuel ready to go on the boat tomorrow morning.
This is the first time it has been home in a good while.
I will update when we are waiting just past la Rochelle in France on Friday, awaiting Tim's arrival later in the day. We are also taking my Dads Fisher fury that I hillclimbed a few years ago and my girlfriend has managed to persuade her dad to let her take his bright yellow TT
Brilliant day, nice weather, no wind, car performed well on its first outing, annihilated a BAM engined TT at 225bhp around the corners, but didn't have enough on the straights so next priority is power.
As Tim said awesome day. Very happy with how the Audi handled and we kept up with a few decent cars. Just need the bonkers power to match the intercooler and how people expected it to go. The tyres were also very good for anyone interested in federals fz201's
This first link is me taking my mum for a drive in the a3, she had never been in it before so was a bit more careful. I didn't actually take it out on my own I don't think.
Second video is Tim taking it for a burn, with a little excitement towards the end at the bottom of the straight.
It was an awesome day we used 3/4 of a tank on track. Hit 96 by the end on the big straight on Sat nav and Tim had a moving average of 56 mph so pretty happy.
Plus we made it home. I will upload more videos later and good photos when the camera comes back next week. I didn't edit the videos either so could be some waiting and generally a lot of talking but you get the idea.
Oh and I'm gonna paint the plate in middle so no reflection next time.
I just watched the videos back on YouTube and realised that the anti shake that YouTube has applied whilst uploading has made it look very odd going around corners.
So due to lack of funds we won't make it to ADI this year. It worked out at about £600 for two of us over the weekend. Which is money I need for Audi upgrades or towards a house.
So unfortunately we won't be there.
It's been a while. The a3 is still happy atm just hooking up gauges and stuff but been busy sorting my mk5 gti due to it only boosting .4 bar. Hopefully sort that tonight and have some power back. We are waiting on some prices for something a bit special next year hopefully then we will be coming to the UK a few times for a few bits and pieces.
Well the Gti is going like stink now. With the remap its making 228bhp and 380nm of torque. So it pulls hard. Just waiting on a quote for the a3 then we can get it under way ready to make some serious power 2016
Not been on here for a while as have been very busy. Work has been manic for the past 9 months since the track day so we have not had a chance to do anything to the Audi.
Also I have spent the most on the Audi that I have ever spent with the purchase of this.
Hopefully being able to have the Audi in the garage might allow us to work on it a bit easier.
Unfortunately this won't be for a while as the house needs renovating .
Also after Tim drove the Audi on the track day he has sold his land rover and we went and picked this up from Sheffield the other day. (the day before my house purchase)
Hopefully one or two probably take Leona and the Gti for the next year or so. Then will be bringing the Audi after that due to needing a massive rebuild
I went to the house today to sort a few things out and ended up clearing the garage of a few things to try and fit the A3 in.
So I got rid of this bench. Well it fell apart.
Tidied up the years of crap that was in there and proceeded to empty the contents of the a3 which has been inside it for the last 3 months.
There wasn't enough room for this stuff so it will have to stay.
Result it fits
Just.
Driving it to the house it was spluttering again and we are making no boost at all so I think the actuator or turbo itself may have died. But what was to be expected of a tortured k03 with 80k miles on it.
