Stupid question from an old man. Can the paddles from a DSG MFSW be fitted to a 'manual' MFSW?

I have a FBMFSW on my BE and on the back of the wheel on either side are the cutouts for paddles with caps over the top? Cant see Audi making two different FBMFSW's. Assume if your car needs paddles they are just added to the wheel.
