A little update..
Took the 2 and a half hour drive down to Bills last weekend, met a few people off here which was good. As far as i am aware the car is back together now, needs a few wiring issues sorted and a couple of other little bits and bobs. Had to buy some new engine mounts as there isn't a lot of space between the turbo and bulkhead, if any. Not sure on which ones were ordered, I'm sure Tuffty or Bill will say.
Had a trip to southampton today to get this..
Picked it up off an ASN member through the Classifieds section.
As far as i am aware they don't make double din facia plates for the a3/s3's so I'm left with two choices (that i know of). Either, make my own or buy an a4 facia plate and mod it. This will all be later on in the thread though as there is a long way to go before i put this in.
The only thing I'm not sure about is the adaptor for the Bose system to work, can anyone point me in the right direction??
lee man, you weren't messing then, but until I left never had the chance to see your car, man I sold mine for 3000 I miss the good old days.
You have made me fancy one of theses now!! I have found a cheap one on:
JVC KW-AVX840 DVD Receiver | Overstock.com
Are you going to wire it into the bose speakers or are you going to install new speakers and an amp?
Lee & I have spoken...
all is cool again
Sorry mate, but it simply wasn't.
I personally saw the turbo, and, as Mark said, the end float was pretty bad. Wouldn't have been long until it ate the seals and then the thing would have had to be rebuilt - a lot more of a PITA than the gasket IMO.
I wouldn't have fitted it, lets put it that way. It rattled like a maraca.
dont waste your time connecting them.. not requiredBill, i kept getting asked why there were pipes not connected to anything so i just put that pipe there. I was thinking about connecting it to the coolant system? Or is that a silly idea? Superkarl, its going into atmosphere at the moment.. i have a custom made catch can but its a little on the large side so im not sure if ill be using it or not.
FMIC with modded end tanks...
Fitted to car (stealthed of course with satin black paint) and the drivers side pipe work...
...pic showing the route of the endtanks...

Hi Tuffty/Bill/Lee
Was wondering if anyone could tell me what size is the pipework that was welded to the intercooler end tanks? and is it the same used on the rest of the setup is it all 60 or 63mm was planning on a similar intercooler setup myself, really dont want to loose the foglights!
Anyway loving your work as usual
Cheers
They are the only 2 times ive actually launched once in the dry once in the wet, both of which are under 5k.
I wont mention the doughnuts i was doing last week then
Speaking of 1500kgs, im on the fence whether to strip out my car or not? worth it?
It was like the scene from lock stock with the two scousers in the phonebox
After he had his hair blown off with the shotgun
Your head was shot
"i was like Lee, leeeeeee get in the car Lee "
Your face was priceless lol
if you dont use the rear seats often then go for it. you do notice a difference. I took out the hefty rear seats, sub and spare wheel at it went very well.is this your daily car?Lee172:1464913 said:I wont mention the donuts i was doing last week then

No, its lucky to get used at the weekends really. I use a punto most of the time, although im on the look out for another car to replace this with.
I noticed the difference with weight on a mates mk4 ko4'd golf, they are so much quicker than a awd audi and the only difference is the weight. But, what is there to take off from the s3 if you wanted to go further than rear seats etc?
