Hi all....... I hope you can help.

I have a 2004 Audi A3 2.0 TDI 140 BKD engine.

The engine management light is on and it comes up with a faulty egr valve.

I have had the egr cleaned/ tested and its all fine,

1 mechanic says its the throttle body fauslty (but the code still comes up with an egr fault) and the other mechanic doesnt know!

He has tested all the pipe work and tested all the vacuum side of it and its all fine.

Any ideas please?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks

Had this problem on my wifes 2.0 TDI golf it wiped out a 10 amp fuse and was the throttle body its a doddle to swap and they are cheapest from euro car parts about !/2 what VW - Audi wanted think VW quated 230 ish

I think the throttle body opens then closes on initial ignition and you can hear it move. The throttle body is a common failure apparently

I stripped the one I swapped on the golf and it was a small gear inside that had stripped a tooth
