If they can’t prove any of it’s been done then tell them the price must reflect this as you need to get done once purchased

Sorry for late reply, I bought this one again as it’s what I have on my motorcycle.
Regards MOT purposes I have trolled the internet previously and seem to be mixed views. My motorcycle has passed with it on so I’m still not sure on this one. If it’s an issue then I can just disconnect it...
Has anybody fitted a brake light strobe module to there vehicle?
Why, I hear you ask!
I’m a bus driver and see plenty of rear end shunts while in traffic and a flashing brake light increases noticeably enormously.
I’ve had one on my motorcycle for a few years now and have fitted one to my A3’s...
I don’t understand why you’re changing the ecu when you only need a cluster coding in.
Just alter the details from your old one to the new.
Here are pictures of mine

I believe a replacement cluster can be coded in with those values, like I say I’m no expert on this and hopefully someone else on here can confirm this. Obviously you can get access to vcds so could ask them too, but sure it’s now easy to do.

I’m no expert but I think, if you had had it plugged in with vcds and wrote down the cluster ’soft code’ you could have just replaced the cluster and copied the code to it. Then everything would be as it was.
Since you haven’t then it’s more complicated

Claim through the courier company,
Once a replacement cluster have been programmed the mileage will be correct as it’s stored in the cars system
