Yesterday I got rid of my 15 plate S3 Sportback. I have to be honest, I never really liked it that much after the initial honeymoon period.

Unsupportive seats, comically small fuel tank, but most of all, the ridiculous engine rattle that sounded like it was going to go pop at any minute, that Audi refused to fix, claiming it was simply a characteristic of the engine. Unfortunately all of this put me off going for another Audi.

Thank you to all on here who helped me decide options when I originally bought it.

Shame you never fell in love with it mate. What have you gone for now?

It's a nice looking car, and is insane to drive. I changed my mind on the colour 5 times before the order was locked.

You'll have to get some pictures up once you've got it :)

Wow, that's a different ball game. We definitely want pictures of that bad boy. Was behind a C43 yesterday and that sounded very nice, 63 will be thunderous.

Merc sounds mint. Fortunately I still love my S3 or my bank balance would be suffering!

It will be a bit of time before I collect it, but I'll happily share pics once I get my hands on it. Currently driving the wife's car, as the courtesy car merc have given me is awful!

It sounds pretty mighty inside and out, with plenty of pops and bangs, but is slightly less noisy than the C63, which I think is a good thing. Obviously it's only a 4L now rather than the 5.5 or 6.2, and there's a bit of electronic trickery at play to get the sound. That said, I quite like being able to turn it on and off at will, as the 6.2 in particular was noisy 24/7, and if you were doing a lot of motorway miles (without hooning it) the drone would send you insane. Only downside is a 1,000 mile running in period, where I can't go over 4,000 rpm. A road trip beckons...

Excited for you mate, must show pictures when you get it. Their an absolutely gorgeous car!

Nice choice of new car. They sound awesome.... Can't wait to see it.

After a comically long 43 week wait, I finally got to collect it today. It’s a beast! 240 of the 1,000 mile running in period done. I guess that’s one benefit of buying from oop norff.

Like that a lot
Thanks. It was well worth the wait. Surprisingly economical on the motorway, but eyewateringly juicy around town. I’m sure it will be juicy everywhere when I’m allowed to press the loud pedal all the way down.

There is something about the E Class AMG, most wont know the difference to a diesel E class but those that know... the monsterous sound track may give it away though. Enjoy

Thanks. Yes, it’s definitely a wolf in sheeps clothing. That’s what drew me to it. Mercedes gave me a C63S when I threatened to cancel because it was taking so long, and the noise that made was in your face all the time, regardless of driving mode. The E can be ridiculously loud when you want it to be, but it can also be as quiet as an E220.
