Hi S3 turbo.
Sorry if you have had issues with the pics. As azibux1 has said you just click the file names and they should come up..
I work in an engineering firm so I have access to all sorts of weird and wonderful cleaning chemicals...lol
Any way the stuff I found is very good at cleaning the chrome is called Jizer degreaser..Yep it's really called Jizer..lol
-product-JIB60K.jpg
Just give them a good soak in this stuff and all the crud will just come off.As for getting the black carbon stains off all I did was use Brasso...Did the job...:friends:

Nope, when we flush, it ends up in the UK.

I love gravity.

Anyway, on topic, I'm trying to find some type of flip cover for the engine start button. Anyone ever seen one ?

Long story but I need it covered

Edit- big shout out to jassy btw

Yep, cover idea is right but needs to be a bit classier. Tried too many image searches. May have to make something.

Damn thing should have been by the steering wheel

Just buy an R8 steering wheel re-route the wiring and do away with the button. Lol.

I know what you mean pickings are a bit slim on the ground for what you are after..The one on the Lambo Aventador is a classy bit of kit..

Out of interest, what's the reason for your requirement?

Kids pressing the button? Or just want to feel like you're in a fighter pilot? :p

Are you any good at CAD modelling?
If so design what you are after and get someone to print one out on a 3d printer. We have one at work and it's amazing what can be done with these things... They are cheap also.Cheaper than an R8 steering wheel...lol

I'm talking to a Chinese manufacturer on AE but they are looking for volume, not one offs. Going to mock up something and see if a local plastic welder can make it

Since moving into the new house and, well, rebuilding every inch of it, I've not done much to the s3.
I took the dtuk off, as service in 1000 miles was on, and then let the Mrs drive it for work! She's done 1000 miles this week.

It failed to start Friday morning. Push the button, it would fire up, rev out and then cut out. Did that more than a dozen times.
When driving it cuts out. Goes into limp mode.
And the dash is like blackpool illuminations.

So I have a long list of things to go w8th it when it goes in for its service.
Ac in op
Windows rattle. Both fronts.
Center consol is squeaking again after it already being replaced
Passenger pre tensioner is noisy.
And the running faults.

How I hate this car...but at least the house is coming along

Do you not know of anyone who is good at Cad modelling?.. If you can get a model sorted and converted to an stl format then I am more than willing to print it out on our machine in work..The only issue is getting it posted to you(well small issue really..Lol)

Whilst taking plants out of the boot I noticed my tips were a bit black...I remembered someone here saying "Baby wipe", so I tried it and it does work lol....good quick and easy way to stay on top of them.

Fitted a pair of Bosch Aerotwins and ordered a boot tidy organiser from Amazon:
Amazon product
Not OEM, but looks OK and good reviews. Ideal for keeping engine oil top up, first aid kit, luggage net etc. in one place.

Shamelessly stolen that one from you! Even if I don't like it in the car I can stash some of my detailing kit in it!

Put on these VMR 701 19 inch wheels and tyres i bought from Shaun (Thanks Shaun) on Sunday. Drove down 300 miles for these beauties.

Wheels: VMR V701 Gunmetal Gloss Finish 8.5x19 ET45
Tyres: Vredestein Ultrac Vorti 235/35/19
The car is lowered on H&R Springs.

I had to buy some McGuard locking nuts as the standard OEM ones didn't fit due to the larger head on the locking nut adapter. but the rest of the wheel bolts are stock OEM.
