What have you done to your A4 b6 today?

New LED boot lights and headlight switch and surround fitted.

I wouldn't mind some boot lights. I wouldn't mind having some lights around the pedals either, but I'd want a dimmer switch or something so it wouldn't bother me much in the dark.

The kids S4 Cab roof is getting a clean today as it was getting a bit green, hopefully it look great when i pick it up later today.

ive fitted a dab radio 3 spoke steering wheel. and my new alloys

Had it back from the garage after....
New caliper, discs, pads, track rod ends, wheel bearing, door seal, camshaft, followers, bearings, cambelt kit, tensioners, pulleys, water pump, thermostat, injector loom, injector, ac compressor, wheels, tyres, window regulator, lights..... And its still doing what I sent it to the garage to be fixed for. Idling like an alcoholic with parkinsons and not pulling from low down.

So, so, so ******* depressed because it's now lush to drive and look at apart from its last remaining faults.

:-(

I had a go with a HUD unit to display speed/revs! Just an off the shelf one from China, plugs into the OBD2 port. Sampling isn't as good as I'd hoped but still good for keeping to speed limits etc.

Technically, I didn't do it, but rather had it done. RNS-D to RNS-E complete. It does what I want it to do anyway.

If anyone is thinking of doing this, just scrap you're car and buy a new one. Its easier. That might be a bit of an exaggeration, but if you're like me and don't have a clue about this stuff at the beginning, then it wont be as straight forward as you'd assume. Symphony II to RNS-E is a lot easier. Its not like its all that difficult of a job, its just that it was very difficult for me to poke out the information.

Didn't physically do anything but did pick up new Valeo xenon headlights (one of which is brand new) for very cheap from a top bloke in London
:sign wow:

Full service today, fluids and filters. Tomorrow I'm fitting 2 new front driveshafts as they have play, split CV gaiters and one is causing really bad vibrations on long motorway drives.

Glad to see mine wasn't the only one...

Fitted the new kenwood double din, hdmi lead and usb into the glovebox and dab antenna up the screen corner. tomorrow is a full trans filter and flush, then fit new window motor (stripped teeth), and hope my clockspring turns up so i can get my cruise and MFSW (from an A8 D3) fitted and working...

Is that the stick on internal aerial, couldn't pick up any stations with mine, ended up fitting a roof mount at the rear

Yep, had to use the "active" type with the 12v lead. but picking up a fair few. And my FM works too (surprisingly) never did in my a6 haha

Not been on for a while, recently done; Full Service, new top arms, track rod ends and front pads, passed her mot (happy days), put winters on (standard 17s)

Well, after ages of trawling through ebay and va rious forums, I finally got a nice B7 RS4 gear knob. The funny thing is, a mate spotted one on ebay and nabbed it for me JUST before this one came up. I don't know what to do with the other one now. There are a few marks on it and the leather isn't great. I know that the leather can just be replaced, but I'm not sure if it would be difficult to do a bit of resto on the silver bits.

Anyway, here is the one I put in my car.

Replaced crankcase breather valve , breather pipe T joint and elbow. Elbow pipe was broken clean off, no wonder car was running like a pig.

Just added these to my car. Wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres all around.... Love em! Need a refurb and some more centre caps though...
Looking good! Michelin PS3s are one of the best tyres I have ever used, excellent in wet and dry. Very low noise/rumble too, compared to the Pirelli P7s on my 'winter' 17's.

Only sting is the cost, but it seems you get what you pay for!

I found the P7's much quieter than the Bridgestone I had fitted before. What was the price difference between P7's and PS3's?

Finally got round to getting it lowered. Replaced all suspension components in the process and now it drives like it should.

Also picked up a half leather/alcantara sports interior from a B7 for a very good price on fleabay. Good week!

As soon as the monsoon stops I'll get one of it fitted. Still need to fit the door cards and to pick up the rest of the interior plastic in black! It'll get there slowly.

Seats are in good condition considering the car they came out of had 300k+ on the clock!

Fitted a FB MFSW instead of the old MFSW.
Looks the part, feels fantastic

And tomorrow will be swapping the LEDs in the doorhandle.. They are not very bright ..

And adding another red LED to the door compartments

Let me know what replacing the door LEDs are like mate I'd be interested in doing this myself

I just put some higher MCD output red LEDs for 12v. A lot brighter now.

Any pictures of what you did? What size led did you use mate

Seems the oem led has resistors fitted.. Perhaps that's why they are so dull..
Managed to split the holder, now I'll try to fit the new led..
Do led have positive and negative, or can it be fitted either way??

Yep, LEDs are diodes and are polarised. The cathode (negative) is usually the larger semi triangular element inside the clear lens/encapsulation.

Googled my own answer.. The big triangle inside the diode is the cathode or minus, and the small is the anode, plus.. The Audi wiring then means the brown is minus, and the blue/brown is plus.

Tried the new diode and it looks promising

Easiest way was to plug in the led then fit the holder, wrap some electrical tape around and then take the "acrylic thingy" (don't know the word for it) and press it in, as the new 3mm diode is a little bigger than the oem.. But it's a tight fit so it absolutely won't fall out..

Looking forward to see the difference...

Now it's time to fit a diode to the door compartment

Led in door compartment and new led in doorhandle (huge difference)
