One of my rear drop links has had it and they seem pretty cheap to replace, do you think its worth doing both at the same time? Also, with my car being lowered would they need to be uprated ones or would OEM be ok?

OEM should be fine, your call on replacing both (if it aint broke dont fix) but if its the original then chances are the other is going to be worn too.

Thanks, thats what I thought. The cars nine years old now so If one goes the others likely to go as well. The parts seem cheap enough just need to find someone to fit them.

False economy to only replace 1 mate, lets be honest....

Can't be more than a tenner ish? Sacrifice a chinese takeaway on a Sat night and do it!!

You should be able to fit yourself if you have access to some axle stands not a hard job just unbolt old and replace (I think)

how do u know when theyre gone? what are the symtoms out of interest?

You will hear an irritating knocking noise.

True, I'll get both done. Audi quoted £42 inc vat for the pair.

How long do you think it would take to fit them?

Maz, PM PJM speedy or Stoke Audi...you'll pay virtually trade that way.....

shouldnt take an hour to fit on the drive as is only two bolts on each, just make sure you have two spanners as each bolt needs securing at both ends

Thanks mate, I'm tempted to have-a-go myself but would rather pay a small fee to ensure its done right. I have a habit of breaking things whenever I try a bit of diy, lol.

Well I wouldnt pay for more than half an hours labour, If you had access to a ramp and airline tools it wouldnt take more than 30 mins top, doing it yourself with axel stands and a jack you'll spend more time putting the car up on stands and taking the wheels off than you will attually changing the drop links.

Thanks chopper, I dont have none of the above so its a trip to AMD. They have quoted £30+vat to fit them within half hour so thats not bad at all.

£30+vat plus the costs of parts???????? if so then sod them off and get 'Billy' at the local idiot place to do them, they really are that simple....even JBS are only £25 for half hours labour...

Yes, lol. I'm not gonna lose sleep over the sake of five pound but things are a touch steeper down south.

Even the local Billy down ere would want a similar amount to fit them, trust me.
