hello there its really doing my head it my turbo had gone on my car so i am now thing i might aswell save up and get the hybird turbo i have been looking and found jabbasport who do audi's and that lot are they any good and what pice would i be looking at for any of these ???

I cannot fathom why you would ask for prices on here when there is a telephone number, fax and Email on their website. Sometimes the old fashion way, i.e. speaking to the supplier, is quicker and better mate.

I did actually, because it is directly below where the telephone, fax and Email details are . But given that you said you were thinking about saving up for one, I don't think waiting until Monday really mattered.

Anyway you have already had an answer from Dunk on this in another of your posts:

a stage 2 hybrid turbo is about £600-700 exchange or about £1200 new, and will need a custom map for about £400-600 to make it work properly

Jabbasport are a very good company but then again there are quiet a few good diesel tuning companies around at the moment that can fit/map hybrid turbos.

Some people like paying ££££ for tried and tested. Cant argue with their service to be honest but there are cheaper places about i'm sure that will do just a good job but without the reputation!

I had a stage 2 done on my beetle there
Milltek, Neuspeed Intake, Neuspeed DV, Remap and it came to £1200!

Yeah was full system, went back a month later and bought the milltek cat for 300 and had it tweaked again

Map was £500 of it, thought that was pricey seeing as maps can be had for £250-300 these days

Personally I wouldn't go anywhere near someone handing out remaps for £300. You really did land yourself a bargain getting all that from a reputable place for £1,200.

Price has nothing to do with the quality of map, £300-£400 is about average for a generic map these days and £500 for a custom map.

whats the difference in a generic and custom map mikey are custom maps better for your car than generic ...???

Generic will be based on a std car, custom will be altered to take into account any mods you have (eg exhaust, intake, etc...).

£300 might be a common price, but I'd rather pay the extra and get it from someone I trust.

Generic maps are a one file map put on every car with that type of ECU. Tuning companies can get hold of generic maps very cheaply these days. "Custom maps" is a very over used word as far as i am concerned as on a custom map somebody might have just tweaked a file or two and hay presto now a £300 map is a £500 map thankyou sir. A true custom map is when the mapper takes into account of all the mods and how you want the car to drive and takes a lot of time and effort to get right.

I can only speak for diesel maps but the only companies charging more then £400 for a generic map these days are Revo ( good maps but a **** take price ) and Superchips. Jabba,JBS/Custom Code plus lots of other well known and trusted tuning companies sale generic maps these days for sub £400.
