Boost leak tester?

You can probably knock something up yourself?

Just need a bung to fit in the air filter outlet hole and tap it to take an airline, and a pressure guage.

That's what I was thinking but I'm struggling to find time.. Was going to bond a tyre valve into some sort of bung. Not sure what to use for a bung though as it needs to be clamped in fairly tight so it doesn't leak?

..then just use a pump with a gauge to hit 20 PSI.

maybe something like a tincan would work? I'm not sure on the diameter though, you'd need to measure it.

Do you suspect a boost leak?

Did you ever get the problems with that map sorted?

Not sure on the inside diameter.. I'll have a look and see what I can wedge in.

Don't really suspect a boost leak as the boost system is all fairly new and nice and tidy but still got issues since 'the map' and everyting else has been eliminated so should really do this for peace of mind.

Still not sorted and at present I'm waiting for Chipped UK to get back to me (from Friday!?!?) as we're going to sort something final out.

Can't really go into much more detail but there's a few unhappy people involved.

I remember reading about someone cutting a small hole through a tennis ball and it is apparently a tight enough fit for pressurising the inlet on a 1.8T.

Yeah.. actually now you mention it I have read that somewhere too.
Might well be worth a go.

Cheers mate.

Someone recently fabricated an S4 pressure tester using a tin of dog food.

Mmmm... meaty!

I have one i bought you can borrow @ cost of post mate? Bought it from Ebay for about £40 delivered IIRc. Handy bit of kit

That'd be brilliant mate. Do you have a PayPal account that I could stick some money in for you?

I'll put a bit extra in as I owe you for too many favours now.

I use dried dog food, so do you recon the 15 kg bag would also suffice??

Seriously, here is a pic of the 1.8t version i have, i have it stuck on a dead MAF to save you having to remove the unit fitted to connect it

Its a shame it didn't fit my mighty S3 MAF MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! etc... (to fade) ;P

(well, it did after a bit of cobbling!!) lol
