Tax on tax

I HATE TAX WITH A PASSION.

Lately all i've been doing is signing stuff and paying tax, I pay coorperation tax, personal tax, company car tax, tax on anything I buy, tax on any profit I make, tax on getting someone to work out how much tax I need to pay....it's a never ending cycle.

The box of tissues on my desk, Kleenex paid tax on the materials they bought to make the tissues, tax on any profit they made on the tissues. I paid tax on them when I bought them using money i'd paid tax on just for earning the money in the first place.

:motz:

I think I need to have an early finish today and go pay some tax on some beer in the local.

...and the more services they introduce to work out how and where to spend and collect our taxes, the more tax we need to pay to keep them up and running.

i think that must be some sort of plan: make everyone directly employed by the government, that way, if people vote against labour, they could effectively be voting to lose their jobs.

ho hum...wheres that overcrowded emigration train to spain....?

There is a solution though, if you become a homeless bum with a tendancy for shop lifting then you wont ever have to pay tax again!!!

On the bright side mate form the fact your paying corporation tax I assume your sefl employer. Think how much more tax you would be paying if you had a real job :)

I do both mate, I own my own Limited company which I take a wage from and have a full time job working for someone else....I get the whole shaboodle when it comes to tax.

Down side = No S3 or S4 whatever you drive,

Is it really worth it????

Ahhh, but as a kleptomaniac homeless bum you can "borrow" whatever car takes your fancy whenever you like, and you wont have to worry about car tax or comgestion charge, or even about putting fuel in the tank and paying the tax & VAT on that!!

I tell ya, its the way forward!!

I worked for the Forces in Germany for 4 years, was tax exempt for nearly everything, oh if only I could be ***** to go back....

Whats that saying, nothings certain in life except taxes and death.

Except if your a kleptomaniac homeless bum you can pretty much avoid taxes, as we've been proving in the above posts.

On a sort of positive point though, death is actually a tax free thing as you dont pay VAT on funerals!!! Bargain :beerchug:

The loved ones you leave have to pay inheritance tax on anything you leave behind though (that's providing you're all up to date on your other taxes first).

Ah no, your covered there if your a homeless bum you would already of given away all your wordly possessions before choosing to become a homeless bum, and as such leave no estate to be liable for inheritance tax!! Sorted, no problems with tax there then!!

Shame you have to die to benefit though!:sm4:

I know 'exactly' what you mean........ I run a business, and the amount of money taken from the company and employees in various taxes is actually OBSCENE.

I used to laugh at the Germans, about 20 Years ago they had the highest level of taxation in Europe,,,, not anymore. Now it's us!!

The BNP have an interesting theory on income tax..........(which as they rightly say is a tax on your labour, and the harder you labour the more you're taxed!) Basically that it could be abolished!!! And replaced with higher levels of 'consumption tax' ie VAT and other duties.........

It's certainly interesting, and would remove the need for the army of Inland revenue tax chasers, who BTW probably don't know what the inside of a Pikey camp looks like,,,, because there would be no 'undeclared' income tax to collect!!

Just thought I'd mention, in my opinion of course, Ive always thought that the British have always wanted the very best of everything but never want to pay for it, whereas the Germans know they are paying through the nose and dont mind that much as they know the money is well spent. Hence their country is cleaner, better trains/public transport, nicer hospitals, better social system etc etc.

Labour tend to dish out cash to anyone that might potentialy vote for them, regardless of whether they deserve the money or not!

I had a reasonably tax free day today, I only filled up with fuel!!

So far today I haven't spent a penny. Pity the money I earned in work was still being taxed.

What annoys me apart from paying too much tax is how that tax money is wasted, especially on those who delibrately abuses the system. I know this guy who dropped out of school, currently on low income, in his 30s. He's very talented in IT and very capable but he's given up job hunting and decides to stick to his crappy job. He's now married and has a child. The council gives them a house, so all he does is claims back everything including council tax, rent, child benefit, tax credit, income tax. I've studied hard for 7 years at Uni, worked for BT etc. He now earns more than my salary because of all the taxes he's allowed to claim back! Unfortunately I think this country rewards people to be lazy (not saying everyone but you get the point) and penalizes those who are working hard for the good of the country. It's no wonder why there's so many illegal immigrants are trying to migrate to UK.

I don't think thats strictly true. I see where your coming from but personally I work for myself. I work pretty hard and I get rewarded for it. Becuase I am self employed I enjoy certain tax benefits. Due to these benefits by the time I have paid my personal tax, corporation tax and tax on my dividends I only pay a small percentage to the tax man. I think the average is about 20% for a self employed person but a lot, including myself, pay considerably less. If I chose to stay in a full time employed job I could work less and get paid less.

i hate the fact we pay tax on our earnings, our Nation insurance contribution is worthless cos of the state pension system. plus we then pay tax when we spend it and when we save it and paying tax on savings really pee's me off cos you then have more money to spend and when you spend it they tax that again!
