I'm sure you can see the difference, but IMO it's a much better looking front end now. The bulbs still have a slight blue tint to them, but it is a massive improvement on the old bulbs.

And yes, the car does need a wash :)
 
As soon as PRI Racing get the first shipment from Japan in June and they can confirm the RRP, we'll then be able to get a firm discounted price.

If you find Redbutchers old thread he does a side by side with the STD DRL bulb and the blue PIAA bulb and the PIAA bulb is much whiter than the Std bulb which is egg yolk yellow.

No probs - the PIAA DRL light isn't as 'yellow' as the stock bulb (if you know what I mean). If you take a look at the old thread there is a pic with the stock DRL bulb on - if you then look at the new chrome mirror pic, the light is not as yellow. It's probably not as white as the old blue tint bulb, but I'd much rather loose the blue look front end.

What i mean is though (yeas ive seen the old thread) the new mirror finish bulbs "look" to be going back towards yellow. defo more than the blue as Jon has stated.

So my question is - Is there any noticable difference between the std and the new mirror PIAA bulbs?

The light produced is not as white as the old blue bulbs, but it is better than the stock bulb, so my answer is yes, there is a difference between the old stock bulb and the new mirror PIAA bulb.

the blue ting'd ones looks clearer white from that pic, but even the blue drl in the 2 pics looks a stronger blue, so I guess its the surrounding area/sun etc etc that increases the blue. The silver ones you can see that little tinge of blue still but clearly if you dont want that blue flash in the drls these are a way better option. Tidy little sell for PRi... nice one red.
 
Yup - a couple of weeks with any luck. Just got to wait for the first shipment of the bulbs to arrive in June so we can get a firm price sorted.

Will update the thread once I hear back from PRI that the bulbs are in.
 
Just been looking on ETKA and it looks like the S-Line and S3 have H11 bulbs in the fog lights rather than the H7s on the standard models.

Red, do you know if PIAA do a H11 in the Chrome White range? If so, then I'll change one of my sets of H7s for a set of H11s.

No, doesn't look like PIAA do an H11 fitment mate, so I'll knock off a set of H7s for you - save you a bit of cash anyway!

Anyone have a pic of the first blue PIAA-bulbs fitted on a Sprint Blue-car? I like the glow from the original blue PIAAs better, so it's all a matter of how the blue tint looks on a blue car to me .. :rolleyes:

Quick update on this - the bulbs are on their way across the sea at the moment. Expected arrival is in about 3 weeks time.

I'm being kept updated by PRI so when I hear more news I will update this thread.

Humm just been looking at the PRI Racing site...

Its slightly cheaper if we order from them directly...
