Does anyone know where you can get the brake pad wear sensors for B5 RS4 non OEM pads

As the title says.....I've been told you can get the wear sensors seperately for non OEM pads? i've looked but cannot find them anywhere. I've just got me some B5 RS4 front brakes, but the pads have no sensors!!! Any help appreciated, thanks.....

I assumed that they came attached to the pad. I have never heard of them as an aftermarket add on.

The wear sensor is buried inside the pad material at time of manufacture. You could always just keep an eye on them.

ive never had wear sensors and never managed to hit the backing plates with a set of pads.

If you maintain the car properly you don't need them as it only takes seconds to check the pad material left anyway, there is a LOT of pad left when it reaches the minimum depth usually, so its not like if you go over it for a few thousand miles your going to kill the disks

Cheers guys, maybe you cant get the wear sensors seperately . It's just that someone told me you could, oh well.....So to stop the warning light showing up on the DIS, is it safe/ok to just bridge the wear connector on the car with a small piece of wire?

Cool so thats all needs done, I have had my warning light on for years as none of the pads I have ever fitted have had the plugs on them.

Well finally found out you can get break pad wear sensors seperately.... i knew i heard right. Anyway you can get them from the Main Stealer for a grand price of £27.59 ea + vat... So now i know they are available i'm going to ring a few other places see if the price can come down.....Cheers for the input guys :thumbsup:

i was thinking about this earlier and i do seem to remember some calipers/pads on certain cars having a seperate wear sensor that sits in a groove in the caliper or pad and wears against the disk

i presume this is whats fitted to the RS4 calipers

Yep the pads i've got have got a little u-shape cut out the top where i imagine the wear sensor will sit.....

I have to get some for my Mintex RS4 pads but I would have thought Euro Car parts and VAGPARTS would do them or main dealer worst case.

I will check with a main supplier near me that supply the shops and see how much they are in the morning.
