What do you think of these? Do you think they would look good on a black S3? I think I like them and 19"s only weigh 9kg a wheel.

opinions appreciated

I don't deny there are better looking wheels out there but 3kgs+ a wheel lighter than the standard 18"s 4-5kgs a wheel lighter than other 19"s. Are they that bad?

I certainly wouldn't put weight above looks on my reasons to buy list!

I think they look ok, on here we can get a bit obsessed with OEM or only German will do, if you are looking at reducing upsprung weight rather than pure aesthetics then they are just the job. Majority on here only do modifications that in their opinion improve the looks, this mod would be a performance advantage with the weight saving being excellent, if you like it go for it as would definetly look better on a Phantom car.

I like them... they do ones graphite coloured I think... great wheel in terms of quality. Looks are a personal choice but I like them...

Like someone said everyone prefers BBS style on Audis... but those wheels are nice, in the right colour car, not sure on the yellow...

I think they look good. I've always been a fan of OZ's even having owned a set of Superleggeras myself so naturally I like these too. Agreed on a black car they will look so much better!

There not a million miles away from the looks of BBS rims IMHO.

I'm not sure mate , but then again i'm not sure if i like BBS rims!

Cheers guys

Mitch78 - I can't seen to find a pic of Heron's car

I spose the question is do they look better than the standard S3 wheels?

I would not change my standard S3 wheels... but I like them... lololol not helping I know..

Pedro

In the looks department i don't think they look better than the stock S3 wheels but then i'm not a fan of the BBS wheels either.

If it's purely weight saving/performance then yes they seem a good choice.

Just my opinion.

Dont think the wheels look great on the car..

If one of your main concerns is performance, and reducing unsprung weight then I think going with a 19" wheel is a bit strange??

Go with a lightweight 18" wheel, there is plenty of them out there

Good luck : )

I think 18"s look a bit small on the S3 that's really my main reason for looking at 19"s. What I don't want to do is spend money putting on a wheel that decreases performance. The OZ wheel appeals as it not only won't decrease performance it should improve it. Trouble is it's not the prettiest wheel out there but then it's not the worst either. I'm not 100% sure on the look and need to see it on a black car. I don't want to spend money to make my car look worse just for performance either - i need somewhere in the middle

such a dilema

If the 19"s weigh less than the std wheels, then he'd be improving looks and performance. OK, 18" Ultraleggeras would be even better performance wise, but the 19"s look better and still improve things.

Cheers mate!

I actually really like that

IMHO, I think that for a yellow car you need abit more metal surface to make it look nice. The spokes are too thin and it just looks abit empty at the wheel wells.

On a black car however... It looks super!

There is no quetion on the build quality and the weigh of the OZ Ultraleggera. Its always been a great wheel that is not ourtageously expensive. I just dont think its the right one for a yellow one...

Me too , ive not started looking at wheels yet , but 18's are a tad to small for the size of the car , 19's look so much better ( i'm not bling fan ) it also gives the track a bit more width and fill's out the arches.

they don't suit the yellow but do the black, what about the titanium MTM alloys, there cannot be much difference in price between the two ?

I do like the look of the MTMs more. Anyone know how much 19" Bimotos weigh?

There are better looking wheels but if weight is a legitimate concern then these are great weels. Always considered them more at home on a scooby or Evo but i like them.

The MTM Bimotos are about 18kgs per wheel. Don't quote me on that but I'm sure thats right. I will check tomorrow for you when I'm in work and let you know.
Check out our web site at www.designerwheels.co.uk and see if there is anything on there you like. We have just become a site sponsor and I am offering a 5% discount on any wheel and tyre package (inc Ultraleggera) in May for Audi Sport users.
If you want something that is not on our site let me know and I am sure I will be able to give you the best price.

PS, if you want my opinion the Ultraleggera look great, especially against the black.

John @ DW you have a pm

From a distance it looks fantastic but up close the wheels maybe look a little too 'utility' and not finished and stylish enough for an Audi. Maybe thats just me!

Personally I think they look great on a black car.

Mind then I could be bias, I've got the 18" version on my A3.

When I bought them 3 months ago only the silver and Matt Black were available in the A3 fitment.

Remember both the Heron car and the White S3 have been lowered on coilovers, which makes any wheel look a huge amount better..

On the topic of light-ish wheels, what do you guys think of the volk ce28, re30 or te37?

The te37 would look more "meaty" compared to the oz ultraleggera.

I think you would get away with the Re30's but the other two wheels are very Jap style..

Beautiful wheels though, and the quality is outstanding!

I got a quote for a set of Re30's in option finish, 3 months wait because of the fitment and they were £600 per wheel.. The Re30 is the top of the range wheel now, even though its slightly heavier than the Ce28n
