as above its about a 10-15 min job to pull the pump clean it and refill with new fluid, Even if you dont have ramps lift the car onto stands. but make sure the car is fairly level when filling the fluid - may need 4 stands unless your on a hill
If you can spec the actual size of the 'o' rings then I would get in touch with these people.........I notice in the workshop manual it recommends that the two rubber gaskets are replaced if the pump is removed.
I had asked Audi to check my filter when the car was getting the Haldex oil changed but they said they didn't have the gaskets in stock so wouldn't remove the pump.
Are people doing this as well, I think they are about £15 for the set. (OCQ 598 305)

paying £15 for two 'o' rings is a serious rip off.
You didn't mention new bolts!............. Still a ripoff hahaYou also get two new bolts, they must be made of platinum
When I had a vauxhall Carlton many moons back I did an oil change on that, a new sump plug to me (as I work for GM/now PSA) 4p, the list price was about £4If you can spec the actual size of the 'o' rings then I would get in touch with these people.........

It's crazy isn't it.... Average 'Joe blogs on the street' wouldn't know this that's why manufacturers put silly prices on them. When I had a vauxhall Carlton many moons back I did an oil change on that, a new sump plug to me (as I work for GM/now PSA) 4p, the list price was about £4
Imagine how I feel! I know how cars are built and how much they cost to build them...hence why I go after big discounts Let's just say some options on an Audi cost more than the entire car we build!!! It's after they leave the factory all the costs are added to it.It's crazy isn't it.... Average 'Joe blogs on the street' wouldn't know this that's why manufacturers put silly prices on them.

Don't want to get the sack, so lets just say ermmm less than the tech pack option on an Audi!!!Interesting question on how much it costs to build a car.....
I did a quick search on line and no surprises there was no hard evidence anywhere on how much profit manufacturers(not dealers) make on their cars.
I did find a similar question on a forum. Made for an interesting read....

Think mine was about £120 oil and labour. Mine was clogged like the pictures shown.
I am curious what the material is that clogs the filter though.

Thanks for the link.Should come in very handy for a lot of members on this siteI got mine done a 25,000 miles at an indi. The gauze was nearly choked. Had a drumming noise from the rear at 39,000 miles when picking away from a junction and it was in the dealer under warranty. They changed the oil again and cleaned the gauze and that sorted it. They said the gauze was filthy. That was only 14,000 miles since the last change and clean and had the drumming noise for a couple of thousand miles before that. Gonna change the oil and clean it again at 50,000 miles and if it's ok will do it every 10,000 miles.
Just had a look for the pump O rings and found this......
